Graduate Together
At the start of the pandemic, XQ institute wanted to create a way to safely and virtually celebrate the high school graduating class of 2020. Graduate Together was an extremely successful, first of its kind, televised ceremony hosted by Lebron James, featuring over 40+ celebrities and influencers including a commencement speech by president Obama. It aired live on May 16th across major networks such as CNN, Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC and live streamed on Facebook, Twitter, Tiktok, and Youtube.
The one-hour primetime special drew over 20.8 million viewers and generated over 300K mentions and 2.4B impressions across the web.
My role in this project was creative director of social media working with XQ to create a look and feel that tied into the existing branding as well as our partner production agency who was responsible for the editing and filming of the show. Our social strategy was to leverage the combined following of all featured talent by providing them their own playful high school superlatives to post as a teaser to their audience. In addition to the creation of a dedicated instagram profile and tiktok page featuring organic and paid content sent to us by actual graduating class of 2020 seniors and their family members.
This was an extremely fast moving project which started only 3 weeks before the air date. My role was to create, lead and produce everything that promoted the show. With a very lean team of 2 other designers I am extremely proud of how this project came to life and the impact it had.
